Interreg Innovazione Energetica

Innovazione Energetica - IE (Energy Innovation) is a project financed by the Interreg Italy-Switzerland programme, and that was developed on 27 months and closed on the 31th March 2014.

The involved territories were the Italian Provinces of Vercelli, Biella, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Novara, and part of the provinces of Torino and Alessandria, the Province of Bolzano and the Ticino Canton (CH). SPES Consulting was the lead partner, while the other partners are the non-profit environmentalist organization Legambiente Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta (responsible for the Piedmont territories), the Burgraviato District Community (responsible for the Bolzano Province territories) and the Swiss partner, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).

The IE project aimed to create the basis to develop sustainable energy policies in the involved Municipalities, by offering technical and economical consultancy, in order to concretely realize the planned measures.

 

In the 74 local administrations involved, the project contributed:

  • to accelerate the Energy Efficiency process with technical improvements on public and private buildings and systems
  • to promote information and training
  • to develop the use of renewable energies
  • to get a modernization of energy facilities
  • to develop a local business structure (starting from ESCOs).
